A youth perspective on Unraveling

I can’t believe how late to the A Sanctified Art party I am. The liturgical art in this library is wonderful and I look forward to using their resources for a very long time.

This Fall, I purchased the Unraveling devotion book with the hope of building our youth discussion time throughout the fall on these reflections. The youth are responding to the art in amazing ways - especially the middle schoolers! We are having such full and beautiful conversations about these stories, and I’ve been writing complete lessons to go along with them since the devotional material seems to be for a different purpose and/or audience. I often end up taking a different lens on the story that I find is more appropriate for youth discussion while still engaging the perspective of the artist.

I highly recommend this resource for anyone looking to engage their youth in new/different ways in virtual meetings. I share my screen with the art (after purchasing the appropriate license) and the kids notice angles of interpretation I hadn’t even considered. Here are four of the lessons I’ve created, in case it helps you envision what’s possible with these!
